Fixing Commodore – The Amiga Overload

Commodore – probably the most famous name in 80s home computing next to Sinclair. The legendary Vic 20 and the even more legendary C64 range set the company apart as leaders in their field, and enjoyed great success on both sides of the pond.

Later came the state-of-the-art Amiga range of home computers, and then…it went tits up!

Here, we’ll take a look at some history and a few “What if?” situations which could have happened.

Double Dragon NES : Review

Nintendo were on fire in the 80s and knew a good thing when they saw it. In 1987 the Double Dragon arcade game was smashing records left right and centre, so Nintendo, ever the watchful company, immediately commissioned a conversion for their (at that time) phenomenally popular console, the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The game appeared on the console only one year after the arcade game was released,  but to what end?

Video game emulation – Don’t be a snob

A gamer I have been since the Manic Miner days, and a Gamer I’ll probably remain until I die.

Retro games (or just “games” as it was in my day) are one of my big three life pleasures (the other’s being film and music), and it’s great that technology has conveniently allowed me to play all of my old games on my PC.

However, not everyone feels the same, so why are people so resistant to emulators?
